Thought you might be interested in the following:   Both packs are to go for $1.99.

Black Market Aerial Pack: Available on April 29
- F-33 Dragon Fly Jet Fighter: a versatile attack aircraft, equipped with twin missiles and quad-mounted mini-guns
- Multi-lock Missile Launcher: a devastating weapon of destruction featuring laser-guided auto-lock on up to four targets
- Parachute Dual Thrusters: twin parachute-mounted jets which transform Rico's trademark parachute into one of the most nimble and powerful attack platforms.

Black Market Boom Pack: Available on May 26
- Quad Rocket Launcher: half shotgun, half rocket launcher, all carnage
- Cluster Bomb Launcher: the natural successor to the grenade launcher
- Air Propulsion Gun: a highly experimental jet-powered blast weapon, powerful enough to send vehicles and soldiers skywards.

...yes, that says Parachute Dual Thrusters.  I'll say it again...Parachute  Dual  Thrusters.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Thanks for posting, space - I saw the announcement for this on STEAM last night.  I'm not sure how it works, but I got the idea that when you add both DLC packs, the chute has not only thrusters, but some kind of firepower (rockets?) as well.

spaceboy

No, I don't think there is any kind of fire power from your chute.  Just thrusters to allow forward/upward motion I'm guessing.  If you're referring to the Air Propulsion Gun I think that is just handheld weapon that shoots extreme bursts of air to send things flying and cause general destruction.

Oh well, thrusters will be great because Rico will be able to travel without the need to sling shot  ;)

is the DLC for free?

spaceboy

nope -  Both packs are to go for $1.99.  i added this to the OP.  thanks for the reminder Art!

Art Blade

welcome :)

That seems to be a reasonable price  :o :-X

PZ

That is $1.99 for each, not combined, correct?

spaceboy

yes, each.  Not bad, I think.  the game doesn't lack without them by any means, but for a couple extra bucks you can add a little extra fun.

I'm definitely purchasing both, and am really looking forward to the thrusters.  I like flying about with the chute, and the thrusters would make that even more fun - kind of like boosting the flame in a hot air balloon.

PZ

Here's a video that demonstrates all of the new DLC items.  A particularly funny part is where Rick wires a govman to a light post and then hits him with the air blaster - the govman spins on the pole with each turn winding the wire tighter until he eventually breaks off and sails high into the sky.

thanks PZ - I  like tuk tuk boom boom - they all look like great additions.  I will definitely be getting both.

the last bit was fun indeed, when that guy went sailing away... LOL  ;D

PZ

Yeah, I can't wait to get the DLC too - am looking forward to the thrusters and rocket launchers to be able to attack via parachute  ;D

I wonder if the thrusters "run out of fuel"

PZ

I just purchased the first DLC ($1.99) for the PC version through STEAM.  I must say that I like STEAM way better than the PlayStation store - on STEAM you can just enter your purchase and pay for it to the penny.  The PlayStation store requires you to add money to your account in $5 increments so with a $1.99 purchase, I'd need to put $5 into my Playstation account, and the extra $3.01 sits there indefinitely unless I purchase something in the future.  In essence, if I don't buy something else, I've just spent $5 for a $1.99 purchase - I don't appreciate that kind of leveraging by Sony.  >:(

On a more positive note, even though the DLC just came out, there is already a mod for the parachute thruster available in two forms, slightly faster, and super fast:

QuoteThis addon modifies the parachute rocket from the DLC to allow you to fly super fast/or faster without restrictions.  Super Para-Thuster gives you unlimited boost with no temperature rise. This is a must for anyone with the new DLC.

Features:
  - Unlimited Fuel
  - Super Fast and "faster" versions

There are slight issues,
-Camera is odd. Easy to fix, someone needs to add a camera adjustment for the parachute.
-the trail is "distorted" or too long, cannot fix.. i think...

INSTRUCTIONS:
Place PC_120.arc and PC_120.tab inside your Justcause2/dlc folder.

Here is a YouTube - looks like super fast - a bit over the edge for me!

they changed this (which I am happy about)  I didn't like the $5 increments either.  But the last few things we've bought have all been charged to the penny.  I think if you add funds it is still in $5 increments, but if you just add to cart and checkout that is when you can just pay for the exact amount.  :-X

That's good to know space, thanks for posting that because I'd thought that I'd probably not purchase from them any longer.  It just irked me to think that if there were a million users, and each had only $10 leveraged into their accounts, Sony would be collecting the interest off $10 million that actually belongs to the individual users.  However, even though I receive lots of online notices, I never saw one that they'd changed this policy.

spaceboy

I don't recall any notice either.  It used to be if you add to cart it would make you "add funds" first.  Now you just checkout.

btw - really nice JC2 image at the top of the page!

PZ

Thanks space, on both counts.  I had a little time free and thought I'd put a JC2 page together.  It's kind of simple, but I like the visuals.

spaceboy

Oh and update on the PSN pricing - It appears the minimum you can spend is still $5 so while you can pay to the penny for larger purchases, if it's under $5 you're gonna have a credit on your account.  It doesn't really bother me that much.  I'll be spending the other few bucks soon enough.  I guess if they keep their transaction fees down by having some minimum - maybe that helps them keep the whole online service free.   :)

Well, I had a blast using the thrusters on the PC last night and captured a short clip on how it is used.  I added the mod to provide unlimited fuel, and no thruster time limit, but you normally use the thrusters in short blips of the throttle to keep yourself aloft.  The only bad thing about the thrusters is that if you die at any time, you lose your thrusters and will need to purchase them again from the black market dealer for $50,000 - a steep price.

sweet - I downloaded the DLC expecting to visit Panau last night, but after kicking the crap out of Hades in God of War III, a friend invited me on MAG (double XP weekend no less) so needless to say I didn't make it to Panau.  BUT - had a great time with my Raven brethren so it's all good  :)   Never in my life have I had so many great games to play at once!

This is the coolest rocket launcher I have ever seen!  :-X

You are able to simultaneously lock onto 4 targets.
[smg id=2264 type=av]

spaceboy

that'll teach the guy in the white car to stop in the middle of the street for no reason!  I hate when people do that.

PZ

lol, so true - you're going to have a blast with that launcher, space  :-X

I'm going to load one of my mercenary mode saves just so I can wander the world causing trouble.  When used in combination with the chute thrusters, Rico is unstoppable - especially with unlimited ammo and fuel  ;D
