All I know is that it means that JRD now has an excuse to get a new machine  ;D

I don't know about JRD's wife, but as much as I love her, I'd not trust in my wife's ability to purchase the proper gaming rig!  ;D

You bet... If I hand her the credit card to get me a new rig she`ll come back with three magic beans!
If she has to use hers, she`ll comeback with a second hand fake iPod to plug into my monitor.  >:(

You are right PZ... that`s the perfect excuse to upgrade my rig. As I already have a monitor (or had it) and provided at least 2/3 of what is left still works, I`ll be able to upgrade without spending too much cash.

I`m almost praying for the death of a processor... so I`ll get the newest i7 or better and a mother board... I have a good power supply (or had it) a nice GPU (or had it) and RAM memory is cheap  ;D ;D ;D

As to your current processor - overclock the heck out of it and disconnect the CPU fan  ;D

I'm taking the complete all settlements / perform all faction missions / collect all faction items before starting the agency missions approach.

I'll do the challenges as my mood dictates. I'm not too high on doing them all. Some of the flying and parasail seem a bit beyond my skill level.

I am about 130 hours into the game and am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

That possible completion glitch at Panau Falls Casino is going to come back and haunt me as I anticipated.

I'll go back and try again but a couple of the items may have "disappeared."  :D

In retrospect, I'm not sure this was a good approach. The agency missions got crammed together at the end and I had to transport back and forth across the whole map to get to them, it seemed.

There were some interesting continuity issues as the game had to catch up all the propaganda broadcasts and audio transmissions from your friends that otherwise would have been played periodically during the completion of the missions and creating chaos.

It was a non stop audio-fest for a while and some of the comments were really out of context, given the way I completed the game.

I now believe that interspersing agency and faction missions and some exploring is a more enjoyable way to play, and then going into mercenary mode with plenty left to do that isn't scattered far and wide across the map.

That pretty much is how I played through and I enjoyed the overall "take it as it comes" approach.  I only had like 13 locations at 100% when I completed the agency and faction missions.  So now in mercenary mode I am working through locations and races and collectibles.

However, I do have to say a bit of the desire has waned in doing so because there is no overall story driving it.  Even the little "stories" involved in faction missions entertained me as I had a task to complete.

So I'll bet the drive you had to complete all you did was at least in part fueled by the fact you still had the "game" in front of you to play.

I'll keep going on like this, I love being in Panau and experimenting, but I know it'll take a back seat to the "wild west" in a couple weeks with RDR coming out.  This takes nothing away from my love for JC2 - but I do feel a bit overwhelmed at the thought of collecting and completing everything.  :P

Amen to that - I can't imagine completing the game to it's entirety, particularly with the skydiving challenges that you guys have mentioned.
