I read somewhere that if you do something like backing up to a closed door with the mortar, you can actually get into a room.  Anyone know how?

I read that too...
Walk backwards against a closed door and deploy the mortar. When you do so you move back a bit, which puts you inside a room you otherwise can't enter for some reason. Relase the buttom holding the weapon armed and voilá!
Obviously, there "must be" a room in it for you to get in. It is supposed to exist in the world! Like a door to one of the factions HQ. Some guys can't open that door and there is no doorman to open it for them, so (don't ask me how) someone figured a way to o it!!!
Some guy posted it as a way to skip a "door won't open" kind of bug!

Let us know if it works...

Thanks for the post JRD,
It's nice to have a record of this "fix" just in case someone needs it.  In fact, I'd like to try it on some of the closed doors like the underground safe houses just to see how (or if) it works on those.

Many replays of that post said they couldn't make it.
Apparently there is a lot of try and error involved...

Will have to try that, since the noclip cheat kills everyone....
