Just came across this today, it's really fun. I guess the guy behind the popular HL2 mod "Garry's Mod" made it. Here's a description.

    Pixel shader effects:
        Refracted water reflection
        Water ripples
        Bloom
        Shockwave effects
        Heat wave effects
        Specular effects
    Full screen post processing
    Over 20 different weapons
    Tons of different enemies
    Advanced particle system
    2D ragdolls
    Unfunny 'in' jokes

The whole game is 3D accelerated - so will require a Direct3D compatible graphics card. We're bringing the effects and the speed of the 3D gaming world into a 2D side-scrolling zombie murder simulator. "

PS..Bear in mind that this version isn't a polished/complete product, he's stopped working on it, but it's still fun, and the levels are quite varied.

Yeah some of em are actually kinda funny though, i'll have to find this one and take as screenshot, think it's in the level i'm on...
