I have identified Indonesian as the language being used by characters in Just Cause 2.

When the chick on the motorcycle drops Rico off at the casino, she says, "Selamat [?], spook!" Can't recall the missing word [ perhaps someone could help] but "selamat" is part of typical Indonesian greetings such as "Good Morning, Afternoon, Evening," etc.

The head of the Ular Boys refers to Rico as "serdadu." That means solider.

The word "lah"  is frequently used. It is literally translated as "is" but its use in JC2 reflects a slang usage I haven't found yet. I suspect it may be equivalent to the English slang, "Eh?" or "Yeah."

And yes...minutiae and trivia are my things, lah.  ;D

The Urban Dictionary says the following for "lah":

a slang used mainly by people of South-East Asia (Malaysia and Singapore mainly) to complement almost any sentence available in a social conversation. the origins of this slang is basically from the chinese language, yet it is now used by almost anyone in the two countries mentioned above who aren't too shy to let their asian roots shine with pride. people who don't use the -lah slang is considered a snob to a certain degree.
A: Hey, can you lend me five ringgit?
B: sorry lah, I need money to pay for my cab and lunch-lah

C: can you help me for a minute?
D: ok-lah.

Doing a bit more digging I've found that there are colloquial English versions of the Malay and Singapore languages called Manglish and Singlish.  See the links for more information at Wikipedia but both use "lah" and "ah" at the end of sentences. Amongst a number of words used by Manglish is "barsket" a corruption of "ba$t@rd" - one of the faction technicians uses this word during a stronghold mission.

Great w@&k eor123 and batdog - I love this kind of attention to detail as well, and just this morning I was wondering what "serdadu" meant as I did the Ular stronghold mission this morning, and will listen for some of the other terms you discovered the meaning of.  Information like this adds to the immersion I feel when in games.  :-X

I assumed it was something like that but didn't have time to pursue it this morning.

Another one I've looked for is what sounds like a call to Buddha for protection  --  often said by cowering civilians.

A native speaker or Buddhist is probably going to have to enlighten us on that one.
