Buddy Rich, an incredible percussionist despite being a pretty horrible person. He still leaves today's rock and roll "drummers" in the dust. And he does it in a suit. In the Dominican Republic. In summer. Under lights. At age 66.

I was heavily impressed by Ginger Baker when I recently saw a docu of his drumming and his life. What a man! Fantastic. And he is virtuoso!

Not that there are endlessly many but there are quite a lot of really good drummers. I always think of Art Blakey first, then some other drummers. Here's a few ideas.
