And you'll get to see more of Notre Dame once I'm near that location again.  ;)

I'm currently spending quite some time running around to unlock viewpoints. I'm at 47% now. It takes so long because the inner Paris is on a scale nearly 1:1 so it is quite a bit time consuming to get through narrow alleys and crowded streets and plazas but a little faster running on rooftops. Just as PZ mentioned, I haven't seen any guards on rooftops, either, which makes running around a lot easier  :)

Here you can see that the scale is indeed approximately 1:1 in the centre, see how far that marked viewpoint is which I intend to unlock, some 500m do look like 500m and it takes equally long (1:1) to get there.  :) :-X

Wow!

I hope they fix this game soon. It's gonna be a blast!

I also hope they allow you to actually play the game instead of inserting cutscenes in key moments like killing the main targets!  :angry-new:

I will never forgive Ubi for not letting me kill Lee in AC3  >:((

well, I don't know about that and I never played AC3. I played 1, 2 and 4 (BlackFlag) because everything in between didn't interest me anymore after AC2 because they started to make it MP only and stuff, not my cup of tea. With AC4BF they had a nice SP again and independently MP and coop, I am no fan of MP but liked the coop a lot. Now with unity, they merged a proper SP game with optional coop gameplay, so that is good  :)

Here one more screenie I just took.. damn, this game looks great, even with my lowered setup. I can't begin to imagine what it must be like with bloody high end hardware.. going to have to wait some until I am willing to upgrade. But eventually I will do either that or get a new machine. :)

I have to disagree on that, mate. AC: Botherhood and AC: Revelations had solid SP campaigns and even though AC3 campaign had some flaws, it was also deeply story based and very well written. On all games, MP was made in parallel but I completely ignored that aspect of the game and yet I've put several hours into each one (actually, I am even re-playing them for the story and background)

As for the images you just posted... these are simply amazing, even on lower settings  :-X  8)

The sheer size of Paris seems remarkable. I reckon Ubi did some serious research before creating the scenarios, as usual!  :-X

One thing I really like about the graphics is the vivid color - not the cartoonish colors of FC3, but very realistic looking pieces that I'd expect to see in that time period.

Just did a random coop as it popped up right in front of the Assassins' "Lair" (headquarters or some such) and 20 seconds later the coop started. I was the weakest and completely inexperienced and under-ranked (1 diamond me, 2 diamonds the mission.. and I felt it) -- I think I killed at least a cat and someone injured on the ground whom I gave a finishing touch.  :-()

How did you know a mission was being offered?

Funny thing is last night my son and I were both in the game at the same time, and I saw someone leaning nonchalantly against the wall.  When I went up to the figure I realized it was my son and the game gave me the option of inviting him into my world.

Talk about being out of synch - when we first played on the opening day were 1 diamond players - last night he was 4 diamond and I was still 1 diamond - what a mismatch!

I knew because like you, I saw a guy standing outside the HQ and something, perhaps a symbol, told me it was a coop mission. I approached him and saw the text popping up about that coop. I chose to accept, then it said something like waiting for other players and I had the option to quit the search, but it only took like 20 seconds until we were enough (3) players and it started. I remember I had a chance to accept the coop as public (which I did) or private.

Country UK because the language is English and I'm in Europe, so visibly more suitable for players from a similar time zone and hopefully with English language skills. But hey, we can still expand to more OWG clubs across the globe  :-D

Now I understand those diamonds just only show how well you're geared up. The more diamonds, the more armour, weapon strength and so forth. The weakest bit of your outfit determines the diamonds shown next to your name. The rank to the right of those diamonds is independent from that. I just spent some money on 2-diamonds gear.

I've now completed all missions, renovations and bought all (so far) available club houses. "Café Théâtre complet"  :-()

Which means.. holy crap! 10,000 livres every 20 minutes.. ??? Now I have more than one hour time before I have to empty the chest, else I'd throw money out the window.  :-D

Regarding the theatre: I made a mistake about "so far" as I thought the last club house might be a reward of sorts, to be unlocked later or some such but it was not visible on the map only due to the fact that I hadn't done those viewpoints that were in restricted areas. When I started doing viewpoints, I was equipped with poor gear and health so the guards caught me and finished me off.. I decided to leave that for later.. which was now. And this time I finished off the guards  >:D

It is too bad that you have game crashing looming over your head the entire time you play.  I hope Ubi gets things sorted for the PC soon.  Thankfully for me, the console version does not appear to have the same degree of issue, at least for me

absolutely :) This game has the potential of becoming my favourite game IF they fix the bugs. I'd like to invite a friend into my gameworld, which is possible, and walk around together while in a voice chat.

Well, not back to the roots, I was able to continue a savegame that previously crashed the game while I had u-play "online" but now, playing offline, it works again.

Absolutely - it is much fun with a friend.  The PS4 comes with a mic/ear bud that plugs right into the controller for essentially wireless transmission of voice between the controller and console.  So far, the voice has been perfect, even with multiple users in your game - feels like a conversation in person with no lag, break up, etc.

Here my newest toy, a hood. Look at the stats.. I can see farther, for longer and use it a lot quicker again. I can basically walk around with eagle view almost nonstop now and see across half a palace. :-()

Dunno if you ever saw, or if you're (ahem) old enough to remember, a TV show called Laugh-In, but your outfit reminds me of a running gag they had which featured a guy in a piece of sped-up film who pedalled around on a kid's tricycle in a yellow hooded rain-slicker until he'd get punched off it by a hand in a boxing glove which came from out-of-frame.

Sounds pretty stupid, doesn't it? Well it was. It was the sixties and everybody was stoned ::)

It's not my fault that the hood with the best specs (or, the specs I want the most) looks like a rain coat. you see, the colour itself is nice, with a different hood for instance..

Ok, I see now. It's like getting Altair's outfit in AC:B or Ezio's outfit in AC3. It is as it is and no customization is available. The reason why you were wearing it is that, unlike Altair's or Ezio's outfir in previous games, this one has some sort of specs you wish to have so you just have to bear with the carnival season colors!

Interestingly, you have a room in your cafe that has the old outfits from AC1, AC2, and others.  My current outfit is Edward's from AC4 - however with the underlying benefits of what I have chosen in the game - the outfit is just the skin covering the "real" armor

JRD, I think you got it slightly wrong. The colours are my choice but limited, there are a few colour combinations available for free, the rest needs to be paid for with a currency needed for upgrading gear. I much rather upgrade armour than wasting that on colours. So, yellow was a colour I liked and other hoods I used previously looked good in yellow. Only that particular one looks really crap, no matter which colour but yellow makes it even worse.  :-()

I can choose parts of my gear, if you go back in this topic you'll see that hood and its specs and that there are a lot of other hoods with different appearances and different specs. So one set of specs is bound to one hood. The hood itself is usually not silver as the one in my last pic, that was just to demonstrate the colour yellow looked good on the rest of the outfit and the silver hood did not distract. Almost all other hoods can be coloured but not individually. When I choose yellow, everything turns yellow. So I have to use that particular hood and just that hood looks crap in yellow. Now if I want to change the hood colour, everything else changes, too.

PZ, I have that room but there is nothing available but that one outfit shown in previous pics, like next to Napoléon.

Just to show you what I mean with colours.. you get a couple (the ones ticked off) for free, some need unlocking and the rest can be bought with "creed points" that are scarce, you get a few of those doing SP missions but a lot doing coop which is unavailable for now. So upgrading cheap gear costs perhaps 500, good gear 5,000 and the best gear 10,000. Same with colours. Some can be bought for 1,000 but like this one, some for 10,000. I got 7,700 right now. But I got 443k+ livres, all I can do with that now is buy cheaper crap than what I already got, more or less useless. The few items still worth buying with livres need upgrading and since those are the really good ones, I'll need 10,000 creed points. That's why I don't waste those just for colours.

I see them all, but I only have access to the Edward outfit - and got it because I found some kind of chest and another thing I can't remember right now.  It looks cool while wearing it though - all my current weapons, etc. blend perfectly with the outfit.

PZ: I can see them but don't have access to them. Most of them require some type of online stuff like "play initiates" or "play companion app" -- stuff that I don't have or do.

Binnatics: Kind of. There are Helix points which you can buy for real money. Some 150 helix points are given to you as a u-play reward for whatever it was you did in the game. Probably as an appetiser. But during normal game play, which means missions, both SP and MP, you earn those for cool actions like a headshot or hidden kill or phantom blade kill and so forth. During my last mission I made about 6,000 points which is why I can now afford to upgrade a legendary phantom hood for 10,000 creed points which was the reward for Sequence 9 Memory 2 (PZ, you will love that mission)  :-D

Binnatics, almost. Helix points can "buy" you upgrades. In my case I needed the most expensive upgrade type which is 10,000 creed points. If you had helix points, which is a different currency, you'd see something like 1,000 so you would need significantly less points BUT they cost real world money. You can see the option in my phantom hood 02 pic, there it reads "HACK" which would show helix points needed if I was online -- as you can only get helix points via your u-play account. Those helix points would be shown in the top row of the screen, to the right of my creed points (hood 02 pic: 13,475 creed points and "-" Helix points)

Yes but only as a short trip. That's called a rift. The game explains that you ran into a "mess" of unmapped DNA and that is when you find yourself popping up in 1944 or 1898. It is a scripted event, part of the story, so you don't really run into it by accident.

The last pics shown above, however, are from the original game's time, 1792 +/-. Napoléon was active then, however, he spent the early years of the Revolution in Corsica :-D Oh and the first Montgolfières started out in 1782 already  :-()

I remember seeing the Marquis last night when I was in sequence 5 (I think).  His clothing always looked a bit dirty  :-()

This really is a massive map - and that you don't feel so hemmed in is a huge plus.  You can nearly always find some kind of alley or pathway through a building to get to the other side.

I like games that allow you to start over and carry all perks, upgrades, weapons, gadgets and whatnot from your previous playthrough. Borderlands and batman comes to mind.

Obviously, the game also levels up and enemies are tougher to make things even.  ;)

Binnatics, I have no idea yet. Stiku checked, they appear to be DLC. A few should be accessible for me while others are likely to be for later (they should be included in the season pass which is part of my deal). As to how can I get to play them, that's what I don't know. Maybe I need to be online with u-play but that doesn't w@&k due to the bug that still needs to be fixed.

JRD, this game doesn't have any difficulty options. You either play it smart or you f@#k up and restart from the last checkpoint :-D There are, however, enemies that range from one to five diamonds of toughness, they have health bars and those diamonds on top so you can see it when fighting them. Apart from that, there are I think five different classes of enemies, too, that define the combat level. A simple soldier, a brute, a seeker, a captain.. you know, that type of thing. So you may encounter groups of enemies that may be composed of any number of those combat levels which results in interesting fights and there are those different parts of Paris that at the time resemble different overall toughness areas. So when you walk across the city, you'll experience almost peaceful streets and around the corner the calamities start to erupt right into your face.. the missions take place in different parts of the city so in total you come across a wide variety of different enemies. Not a bad concept.

But.. I started the game with one priority: Get as much money as possible as soon as possible. Like that, I was able to buy the most expensive gear I had access to, quite early, and kept levelling up as soon as I could afford it (there are more than one currencies in the game needed for good gear, some comes from combat experience.. the more you fight, the more you collect, the sooner you can afford the big stuff that also costs "real" money). Geared up as I am, I am next to invincible during normal encounters but if I don't pay attention and get into several groups of say 20 enemies and on top have snipers on me (oh, some "foot soldiers" just stand back a bit and shoot you with a pistol) then I am screwed if I stay. All I can do then is RUUUUuuuun and lose them :-()

Yep! I like the concept of realizing real environment in games. The first time I ever experienced that, was in Midnight Club 2. They reproduced LA, Paris and Tokyo. Especially Paris was cool to ride through, since I know the city in real life.
Actually, I think it makes this game more special. :)

All my equipped gear is "legendary" hence the golden diamonds next to my name.  :-() I have different loadouts and combinations of those. Here you see what is kind of my tank loadout.. incredible amounts of health and loads of ammo. Recommended for coop.. as those guys tend to find themselves some trouble they can't talk their way out of anymore. :-()

I was playing coop when one of those glitches occurred that prevented us from achieving the next objective.. that last cannon could not be sabotaged (well, actually I did sabotage it) as it just wouldn't bloody show up on the map. From four to three down to two players, that other guy and I would just wreak havoc across half the city, collect all kinds of goodies and finally he left. THAT triggered the objective.. the last cannon had been sabotaged already but it wouldn't show until I was left alone. Voice from off-screen, "nice.." and mission accomplished.  :laugh:

In the process of all that, I levelled up from Elite Officer to Champion, got the achievement Gentleman Cambrioleur, was rewarded the legendary prowler bracers which at the time was my last reward so I have really completed that coop mission (three times) and I got 5 of those sync points that you need for buying new skills which is what I had in mind indeed. :)

just so you can see I'm still busy with ACU coop, my coop partner and I managed to reach the final rank "Legend" which requires the accumulation of a total of 600,000 creed points (you don't usually see people running around with very high ranks, at least not yet)

Our club OWG is doing fine, 20 members by now and we rank 2nd for the 2nd time (being casual gamers, more or less, while the leading club obviously is highly competitive -- they go for a million points in just one day.. while we are just having fun and along the way keep racking up a reasonable amount of points) Club competitions are new, this is the 2nd competition. You have one heist and one coop mission that Ubi names and for those you get special rewards for specific actions (like a sync stun grenade kill -- stun enemies and then the club members have to kill stunned enemies simultaneously). Only the club that finishes first gets a reward. We started in Bronze Division III and finished 2nd and now we're in Silver Division II and about to finish 2nd again, both times behind the same club that finished 1st both times.

A club is just a bunch of people. These days, every week for one week there is a competition. You can play one heist and one coop mission that UBI provides with a creed points boost (x2) and you get rewards (otherwise locked gear) for winning that competition (the club that finishes with the most points wins) and else, you get bonuses and rewards for completing club objectives. You can see all of those when you either join a club or found one, in the menu under "my brotherhood" you'll see "my club" etc.

Here is my trusted coop partner and myself hanging out together.  :-D

your son and yourself.. two good people.. are enough. My club is 25 people I don't know and who don't participate in the competition. I just allow everyone in who wants in. The coop partner who plays with me in those competitions is someone I met in coop during my last days of AC:BF who had a similar gaming style. We just teamed up in ACU for the first time and recently started to play competitively, with success. :)

Another UBI-Fckup -- I can't even get the prize for the first place. It's not unlocking >:(( It's a bug some players suffer from which means: you can only use those weapons you PURCHASED BEFORE THE LAST PATCH. Any new weapon or any weapon you want to / have to buy, will not be visible for coop partners and once you want to re-equip those, you'll have to PAY AGAIN for them. And this prize was supposed to be free (as you can see, paid for by UBI using Helix credits) but it just stays that way with that "pending" error message. >:(( At least BlackHalo can use it as can be seen in the screenshot above.

At first we didn't want to compete, we were just playing casually. But when those guys (other club) who had been with us from the beginning (same bracket, same tier) won Bronze I and then Silver II and after that Silver I (another club finished 2nd) we were left behind and had to repeat Silver I so we then decided to actually compete. We finished those competitions (each one lasts one week) as follows

Bronze I, 2nd
Silver II, 2nd
Silver I, 3rd
Silver I, 1st
Gold III, 1st
Gold II, 1st
Gold I, 1st

Basically when we made up our minds and went for it, we went through the competition like a hot knife through butter, undefeated.  :)

Ah I see. So when you don't participate tour club will automatically score the lowest, making it move down one division. That's a fair deal. Only competing clubs will show in the higher regions, nice :) :-X

Well, we had been at 35 members max. However, after the latest patch5, I have now actually been able to see for the first time who is on that member list and checked what their stats were. I decided to thin that list out a bit. A good pruning for the win :-()

speaking of wins, we're 4 active members, my fellow 3 members I do know but there is 1 more, the 5th, who is on probation as I haven't yet seen him. He's the only guy left from the list with nice stats. And still, with 4 peeps, we beat the other clubs on that Gold Division, Tier I. We've been staying there since we got there  :-D We only play when we feel like it, not winning at all costs. We skipped a win and are likely to do so more often.

Note the "5" wins  ^-^

I kicked the fifth guy whom I didn't know, despite of his stats, when I received a request from Onder to accept a friend of his so those two could play together for the same club.

Now we've finally achieved two major goals: We've got only active members all of whom I know and we've finally managed to play missions with four players of our club at the same time.

Even better: When thinking of a strategy of how to handle the remaining club objectives that require 60 heist missions and 60 coop missions played with four players, I thought it would be difficult not to say chaotic to coordinate four players on one mission, let alone 120 missions total. So I thought it best to create that team of four by dividing it into two groups of two. Those two players forming a group are to get to know each other and play together all the time, so they are a stand-alone team already.

Now all I needed was to stick two groups into one team and we could play as usual, two times two players playing individually on the same mission. I only require those two players to stick together so they can help each other (revive, defend and so on) and it doesn't matter if we cross our paths (already happened, was fun :) )

The fifth guy we've got randomly joins the team, filling in for absent group members. Excellent :)
