Title: Homefront: The Revolution
Post by: nexor on May 22, 2016, 05:51:12 AM
Anyone checked out this game yet?
The clip is a bit lengthy, but the guy playing it is doing is quite funny with a running commentary while playing.

"mixed" (I read that as "overall no good") reviews from steam users, too

Nah... I don't think I like the look of that one. I watched about half the clip, I don't know if it opens up later but what's shown in the first half was very scripted and rigid. A lot of long cut scenes too, which apparently aren't skipable, so they'd get to be a drag after the first playthrough. Even just after watching that clip I wouldn't want to sit through them all again...

The Wiki article described it as an "open world shooter" but it didn't look very open world to me. Maybe it becomes so later, like FC4 did after all the intro stuff, so that might be an unfair criticism on my part. I don't feel terribly inclined to take the trouble and spend the money to find out for myself.

Dunno. Looks like it covers the same sort of ground that many other games have already done.

The game has been through hell (studios/publishers that originally developed the game closed down. Development  of the game turned into a complete mess)  :(

Yep. And it wasn't worth the wait anyway.
