Starting from the very beginning...

... in AC2 where a baby is born, and his father names him Ezio Auditore da Firenze.  Ezio is a brash teen, full of testosterone, and eager for a fight.  His father and brothers were murdered by a corrupt politician, and he needs to escort his traumatized mother and sister to his uncle Mario's villa.  He is well on his way to becoming an experienced assassin.

I'd forgotten quite a bit of the story line, and am pleased to relive Ezio's life from the very beginning, meeting all of his friends and family almost as if I was in an animus.

I'm barely at the beginning of AC:R (13% or so) but I'm looking forward to go back to AC2 and start all over again!  8)

I know how you feel!  I'm now playing from the beginning, then plan to go into ACB, and finally finish with ACR.  It has been long enough ago that I played ACB that I don't really remember hardly anything about it.

One thing I plan to do is my homework... I'm trying to find some info about the ending of each game explained so I can actually put the pieces together as I play through the three titles again... I'll post whatever I find useful here so we can discuss the story behind it too!  ;D

Great idea!  The story line is so good in this series (especially since it spans three full titles, and brings in the history from the original AC1) that I am enjoying reading some of the history that is available in the DNA.

Spoiler
The ending of ACR leads me to believe that there will be more to this series than I first thought - it ends on a questioning note just like the others.

Christine was the name of the girl that Ezio went to meet (climbed up to her window) at the beginning of AC2 and now in AC:R we hear Ezio in a letter to Claudia say something about his pain from the death of Christine.  Was there more on this relationship in AC:B that I missed from not playing that episode?   ????

My memory is a bit hazy on ACB, but I seem to recall Ezio doing memories within ACB that took him back in time - I thought a Christina memory was one of them.

Spoiler
Something along the lines of her and Ezio not being together because he was gone so long without word of any kind.

Still in AC2, and just assassinated the Archbishop (can't recall his name) in the Tuscan countryside.  While the mission was very difficult for me when I first played it long ago, it was exceedingly simple now.  Then when I went to visit with Lorenzo de' Medici da Firenze, I even listened to the biographies of the conspirators I am to assassinate.  The back story makes the current play through all the more vivid as I read of their treachery.

I must say that playing through the entire Ezio series this way takes the game to a whole new level.

I just finished AC2 in my progression through the story of Ezio's lifetime.  When in the vault, and am battling Rodrigo Borgia, I have trouble maintaining control of my PS3 controller, I'm laughing so much.  Using my fists, knees, head butt, and kicks, I'm pummeling Rodrigo, and he has the nerve to use phrases like "You are right to fear me..." and "How long do you think you can keep this up...".  While I'm laughing, I think to myself that I can keep this up all day, you fool; you're the one being pummeled!

I've saved all of the side missions, including all of the assassin tombs except the first required one for a later round of fun.  Now, I'm going in to ACB to refresh my memories.  :-()
