We just watched an outstanding movie titled [imdb]Finding Forrester[/imdb].  We rated it 5 stars out of 5 stars - an excellent feature.  Sean Connery plays a reclusive author that mentors a kid from the Bronx that has exceptional academic writing talent.

That is a tremendous film :-X

There was only one jarring note in it for me, a scene where the young guy is in a cafe with a group of friends (all black). I couldn't understand a word of their conversation! I know they were speaking English, but it was so convoluted with rapid-fire black slang that they might as well have been speaking Swahili ???

But other than that, a great movie. Sean Connery was terrific 8)

 I know what you mean; it is almost like a different language at times!

I love movies like that and I especially love Sean Connery, no matter what role he plays :)

Some good school/mentor movies :

The Principle with Jim Belushi

Lean on Me with Morgan Freeman

Dead Poets Society with Robin Williams

erm.... cough...Bad Teacher with Cameron Diaz >:D

Edit : tried the IMDB tags, they didnt w@&k correctly on a couple of them.
WITH A GUN FOR A LOVER AND A SHOT FOR THE PAIN.
