Three and a half years ago, GTA V was officially announced by Rockstar Games. I remember it as yesterday; a crisp video showing a city, countryside, activities, just like back in the days when we used to roll in San Andreas. I remember reading the letters Los Santos on a graffiti under a viaduct and how excited I was that we would return to that huge world, with all its possibilities and with nowadays graphics and multiplayer options.
And today, finally, after 1266 days of waiting in anticipation, will I be able to walk my first steps in the renewed Los Santos; will I drive through Blane County and will I fly over to Mount Chilliad again and use a bike to ride, errr, fall down and break my neck >:D
I am almost scared. Will it really be that good? Will it not be a great disappointment after all? Will the game run well, without bugs? f@#k me, let's get it over with and start the freaking game!!!!!!! 8)
You go, BinnZ!!! :-X
Okay, here it is, my very first impression: Awesomeness!!! This is Call of Duty, Midnight Club, Max Payne, LA Noire all together in one master piece. Incredible!!!!
The first mission, 9 years ago, gives a nice twist to the brotherhood of these 3 men, well, at least 2 of them already. Then, when switching to Franklin, s#!t gets down Los Santos Style. What an introduction. A freaking repo job, and this Lamar guy, he's just one of these Grove Street mofo's, kind of like CJ's older Brother. Even sounds like him ^-^
Franklin is funny. I got distracted immediately by the side missions, basically the Freaks out there. I did a paparazzi mission for some weirdo and then a street race. Excellent. Not that easy though to get gold medals on the s#!t. Quite some challenges out there ;)
The driving is slightly different than in GTA IV. I heard it was to become easier, and it seems that way. I got to get used to the heavy brakes, for the rest it feels good already.
The city reminds me a lot of LA Noire. They really did a great job blending that sunny LA feeling into GTA style gameplay. Excellent!!!
Michael reminds me a lot of Max Payne, in MP3. How he rages at them scumbags when they steal his boat, priceless :-() I really like Michael.
I haven't met the psychopath yet, but he seems to be like some sort of manhunt character :)
The shootout in the snow with the police reminded me so much of CoD. Realistic aiming and shooting, and excellent red-crosshair effect when killing a target. Reminds me of the "Critical" notification in Borderlands ;D
The game runs smooth, without a flaw or hickup, and the graphics look excellent. I wouldn't know what exactly my framerate is, but it's good enough to not having to think about it 8)
This game is going to cost me a LOT of time :-D
[smg id=7801]
All a man could ask for 8) 8)
Trevor's(psychopath) nuts, really great with lines.
Once you get there, youll be amazed the lines he pulls.
Some quotes from Trevor  :-D >:D ??? Will add more when I hear them  :-D
Spoiler
"Good lord goodbye  (Out of ammo/car crash)"
"TWAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!" (Out of ammo/insulting people)
"My name is Trevor, what's your name?" (enabling his special ability)
"Bullshit!" (Out of ammo)
"s#!t, s#!t, s#!t" (Out of ammo/getting a wanted level/car crash)
Binnatics, agree - lots of time. Almost all-consuming, that game :-X :-D
Agreed - just the exploration alone. The graphics are so detailed, I was thinking that you could easily need to hike the streets to see everything
Today I went up North. Close to the military base. I went there because I joined GKID in an online session. Man, the landscape overthere, it's so marvellous. I was wading through a swamp, knee-deep in the dirt. All the different countryside styles are so freaking detailed and real.... I have never imagined playing a game like this. The nature is so lively, the landscape so real.... and the tanks so devastating >:D
Hehe :) The "nature" is really impressive, landscape, animals.. I took a walk when I was just fresh into the game and instantly got chased by one of those fucking mountain lions or what they're called -- he wasted me right there and then :angry-new:
LOL
I laughed my guts off today when I did that torture job on the Azerbeidjan guy with Trevor. T is brutal it's becoming funny!
It was priceless pulling that tooth out of his mouth, and horrible, but I was laughing all the time :-D
I'm afraid I'm turning into a psychopath myself >:D
what do you mean, "turning?"
:-D
You're right; the madness was already there, it's like someone left the gate open.... :-D
:-()
Ever since I first saw that torture scene in a YT playthrough I've found it really appalling.
I was getting afraid of myself, honest
I wish I could say something else, but I really enjoyed it >:D >:D >:D

Oh no!!!!... \:/
Michael is the big sociopath in this game!
maybe we could say that under certain circumstances you assume a role of a sociopathic serial killer when playing games while you're gold at heart in real life. :)

Somehow I expected that someone might put two and two together and pass a comment..
:-()
He is ^-^ The whole world turns around him and him alone. That doesn't make it an awful guy, I love him too 8)
Oh, and thank you Art for your compliment :-X :)
Can't say you're playing a role as sociopathic serial killer in games, I'd rather call you a calculating maniac assassin, but I can definitely say the latter of you too :)
thanks mate, and spot on :-D
I am so far through the game now, it's time to do the Big Thing! The Union Depository. I chose the drill approach. Wonder what you guys chose. I am about to steal the drill, but it is quite difficult. You have to do it stealthily, or the cops will start chasing you. No way you're getting away with that truck
The last few days I've been busy doing all the 100% stuff. I am pretty far already. I only need one more miscellaneous activity. Probably visiting a strip club with a friend, which I can't do now, since the heist is being set up from the strip club back-office :-D
I have a minor concern; I read somewhere that a guy couldn't do something "after he killed Trevor". Are we really about to kill him? Man, I hope I have a choice in the matter. I am somewhat reliefed though, since Art spoke of Trevor having his bank account maxed to 800M after the game finished. I think I DO have a choice :) :-X
[smg id=7895 type=preview align=center caption="your choice"]
That's a nice spoiler... I'm even more puzzled now :-D
Deathwish all the time >:D :-D :-()
I did deathwish of course :-()
Spoiler
Couldn't imagine myself killing my own friends, and the outcome is just the way I'd like it to be 8)
:-D 8) >:D
yep, same here -- didn't want Trevor or Michael killed.
Just out of curiosity, if one of your characters like M or T is killed, do they remain dead?
Spoiler
If you pick A or B this happens: A: Michael and Franklin are alive. Trevor is permanetly dead. It is similar to ending B (Michael is permanently dead). However, if killed in free-roam (before the endgame, they respawn at the nearest hospital and you end up with -5000$ from your pocket >:D
GKID, PZ isn't yet so far in the storyline to even think of ending A, B or C. So he likely means accidents. :)
Then it is correct, they can't die but end up in front of the nearest hospital instead. While $5,000 is the maximum amount you get subtracted from that character's cash, if you've got just a few hundred or thousand bucks, the bill will be just a fraction of that.
I have done that for fun  >:D

You know me well, AB :-() I didn't even know of A. B, or C ^-^
Although I wouldn't say that I didn't know you well, that was a mere logical conclusion :-D
:-D
Yesterday I got the last single player achievement; 70 gold medals on missions :)
I focussed on the story missions and it was great fun to do them all again, and again. The conversations in the game between the 3 main characters, and all the other characters i nthe game of course, are hillarious!
I took a second look on T's personality, liking him even more. He's by far my favourite character. Not that I don't like Michael or Franklin, they are all three very cool characters :-X :)
This time T's brutal rage on whatever he discovers during his first few missions was shocking me more than the first time. I Became a true dentist during the investigation scene, and I realised that along the story he kind of softens up, showing his human side bit by bit, however never for long >:D
This game is SO great!!!! Yesterday I did an Online private session with Uzi and Art and we discovered how marvellous the in-game chat works :-X
I tried the flying school in the Online edition and the missions there are completely different fro the ones in the story. Here you'll be tought to become a military pilot, flying all kind of heavy army material across San Andreas. What about an emergency landing on the beach, with a military freight plane? Excellent 8)
They are quite challenging though ;)
This is my online character after I jumped out of an airplane and had to catch a falling chute; now enjoying the thrill of it :-() :-()
[smg id=7951]
Aaaaaaaaaaahhhh!!!!!!
[smg id=7952]
 >:D
:-D
Did those online flight school missions also, only to be stopped at the last one, because the game glitches and kills the instructor after going under the pipe thing.
But im all in on the online side now, and actually quite suprised, most of the people in missions and race are NICE, only met handful of people who are asses, but ALOT of people who actually wants to talk, compliments, gives advices, don't want to kill you, but invites you to missions and jobs.(seems to help alot, when they see that you drive fast and hard without crashing with a Comet)
But I had a a$$hole in one session that wanted to kill everyone, so once he killed me I took a ride from someone and went after him, and stopped to get 3 more players into to the same car to go hunt this idiot down, and people actually joined and talked during all this also, which was really nice.
Also I was actually given the chance to visit underside of the map with a parachute to explore to void:

I just checked my total playing time on steam; 1029 hours :o
It's an all times high score according to my steam statistics. I may have played GTA IV and GTA San Andreas an equal amount of time, but don't have hard proof for that :-D
Anyway; I think this is the best game ever made so far. I will write a review soon 8)
I'm on 2,098 hours right now, starting in April it means in less than half a year ^-^ And I feel the same about this game, the best ever.
Plus, the support by Rockstar has been really nice. I had two issues that made me file a report and they were really kind, polite and helpful. I really feel welcome when I contact their support and I believe that they are truly interested in helping me. I really like them :) :-X
Wow, 2098!!! :o :o
You doubled my total time. And you did that in 6 months... sounds like a full time job ;)
Indeed excellent support @ Rockstar games. They really give you what you paid for, even more if you ask me. 6 months of intense gaming, constantly new stuff to discover, buy or experience and all that for only 60 euros. I haven't paid a single dime for all the DLC content they keep releasing. They even do their best to make it hard for cheaters and hackers to spoil the fun for the rest.
:bow
yes, they DO CARE about their customers :)

R* said it's 3 times as big as GTAIV , Red Dead and San Andreas combined so I expect you'll put in around, 2000 hrs in this game :)
:knockout
