Title: Anachronox Awesome (old) RPG
Post by: Fiach on March 16, 2012, 12:34:40 AM
One of the finest RPG's ever made, Anachronox is finally available again.

On gog.com for €4.70 (5.99 of your earth dollars), cheap as chips and runs at hi res on win 7.

Made by the creators of Deus Ex, its an RPG based on a private investigator out to save the universe.

I still have my original CD. Actually it was Ion Storm Dallas of Daikatana (John Romero) fame. Deus Ex was done by Ion Storm Austin. Coming on the heels of Romero's failure Eidos pushed out Anachronox before it was finished and bug checked. Joey aka 'the chinaman', and one of the original team, posted some fixes on planet anachronox that he'd done on his own time.

I'm not sure who was responsible for the writing, but it had some of the funniest lines I've ever heard in a game. One I'll always remember was walking through the red light district and hearing a patron leaving a strip joint say "time to go home and burp the worm"

We tried to get him to go with commercial DVD's, but I don't believe he ever did....

The gog version is the fully patched build.
