I found these so far:

  • All the junk: adds 1000 pieces of all junk to crafting
  • Maxed S.P.E.C.I.A.L.
  • All the perks
  • No player voice: for those that want the player silent like before
  • Pre-war house front door unlock: This mod unlocks front door of your players house in the intro (Pre-War) to allow you to explore outside the house before the bombs fall and destroy everything precious
  • Experience Points

Quite a bit more, but a few of these will make me a much happier gamer  ^-^

I came across this Notepad++ accessible hack that removes the top end frame cap.

From what I understand changing the correct line's value from 1 to 0 allows your GPU to set it's own limit on the frame rate it can cope with.

Nice, I may grab that unlock one, but the others I'd pass on to play the game as it was meant for the first time anyway.

As for the FPS cap hack that Mandru posted, there's apparently a problem with doing that, as the physics engine is tied to your frame rate (according to the comments below that post) and a fix someone posted on reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/fo4/comments/3s6ile/disable_vsync_for_zero_input_lag_and_limit_fps

Is a bit more complex, but supposedly fixes it. If I see any issues if/when (who am I kidding, it's when) I play the game, then I'll look into that. So, mostly my reason for posting here was to save that link lol.

Good posts, gents  :-X

I'll play vanilla at least once.  However, knowing how I typically play, will likely apply the cheats half way through the game

Dang, the number of Fallout 4 mods is exploding on the Nexus - now at 216 and counting.  I can tell this one is going to be as much fun as what I had in FO3 (never really appreciated FNV)

Art Blade

Art Blade

I'd like to see a screenie once you've built something :)

:-() definitely - as soon as I get a feel for the game and can't resist the urge to mod!

mandru

I came across this possible modding and cheat treasure cache but someone will need to look it over to see if there's anything useful as it's all Greek to me.

It's mostly cheats but at the bottom there's some mods

Those mostly look like console commands, to give you various weapons, armor, increased stats, etc. The teleport to a room with all weapons sounds interesting.....

If I do end up with the game I guess I'll need to learn how to use console commands.  Some of those options look pretty sweet.  :-D

Console commands are about as easy as it gets - hit the tilde (~) key to open the console and then type the command. Tilde again and the console closes

mandru

OK, great!

I used those long ago in Half-Life 2.  :-X

Guess I just needed my memory jogged.  :-D

PC Gamer came out with "Best of Fallout 4 mods so far" complete with links to the mods and instructions

http://www.pcgamer.com/best-fallout-4-mods/

... and this link with many of the same mods, plus a few more

Eurogamer came out with this - I particularly like the settlements mod

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2015-11-13-fallout-4-mods-are-already-changing-the-game-in-cool-ways

... here's another to add to the list - a few more interesting ones like fusion cores not draining in your power armor

Those weapons sound like playing with little kids lasers  :-()

fragger

 :-D They do, don't they?

Would a laser weapon actually make any noise? It's just emitting light, albeit at high energy. A real laser weapon, if there was such a thing, would probably make no more noise than a flashlight being switched on or off - the trigger or fire button or whatever would probably be the loudest component. There may be a faint hum or something while it's operating. But that wouldn't sound very dramatic, would it?

The ray gun fights in movies like Star Wars wouldn't have much impact without the echoey CHOONG noises :-()
