Title: Screenshots
Post by: fragger on December 02, 2014, 07:17:16 AM
I thought I'd start a separate topic here for FC4 screenies. Being such a photogenic game there's bound to be a few, once more members get into it. IF more members get into it... :-()

I've only come across one of these funky-looking vehicles so far. Yes, you can drive it.
[smg id=7440 align=center width=600]

You don't want to get hornswoggled by one of these. This particular one's butting days are over.
[smg id=7441 align=center width=600]

I absolutely love the gyrocopter!
[smg id=7442 align=center width=600]

Follow that truck! If only I'd had a grenade launcher with me...
[smg id=7443 align=center width=600]

Once you're finished flying, you can put it down anywhere.
[smg id=7444 align=center width=600]

Some of the scenes and vistas are beautiful to look at.

Nice pics Fragger! Love the elephants... The Rhino has a small horn. In fact, I'm a bit puzzled by the presence of these animals in the Himalayas. I thought they only live in Africa ????

There's a little story to this in one of the "Kyrat fashion weekend" sidequest's why rhinos are there and plentiful.
And those are Asian Rhinos.

That scooter looks like the tuk-tuks in JC2

Do you think you could have landed on that truck fragger?  Then you could hijack it just like in JC2  >:D
Title: Re: Screenshots

 :-D

I thought about that but it was all I could do to keep up with it. You can either kill the drivers and hijack the truck and drive it to a particular location for a reward including a free ammo top-up, or you can destroy it and still get a reward minus the top-up.

I did, that's how I knew they were drivable :-D

I didn't know about Asian rhinos either until I played this. I Googled them to find out and Stiku is correct, these are Asian rhinos, which are characterized among other things as having a smaller horn than their African cousins. Also, they only have one horn whereas an African rhino has two, a large one at the front with a smaller one behind it.

I saw a cool sight yesterday. An eagle swooped and attacked a monkey, then picked it up and flew off with it.

This is one of my fave weapons so far - the D2, a sawn-off double-barrelled shottie. It packs a solid wallop and it can be carried in the Sidearms slot (you have a Sidearms slot which can only contain a sidearm, and three other slots which can contain any other weapons).
[smg id=7479 align=center width=600]

The elephants love the water.
[smg id=7480 align=center width=600]

Up in the high country. This was a one-off mission into the Himalayas. It looks amazing, but the mission itself is one of the find-the-missing-objects-before-your oxygen-runs-out affairs. You can get extra oxygen masks off dead baddies, so it's actually not too difficult a thing.
[smg id=7481 align=center width=600]

The crowd in the arena. Fond memories (not). After the first arena fight, you can actually go back and take part in as many arena fights as you like, to see if you can increase your standing. Reaching Level 10 will unlock a signature weapon - the Bushman.
[smg id=7482 align=center width=600]

Some of the characters in the story. These two heads are supposed to be the game's comic relief, I think. In reality, they're just annoying. And long-winded. And apparently, perpetually zonked.
[smg id=7483 align=center width=600]

This cat is the local fashion guru. Completing "Kyrat Fashion Week" missions for him (by hunting specific rare animals) will earn you the final upgrades to your various gear-carrying containers, just like the Path of the Hunter missions did in FC3.

Title: Re: Screenshots

Nice ones nex :-X

There is a way to get a screenie without the weapon showing, but you have to be quick. If you hit your takedown key there's a split second between when the weapon goes down and the knife swishes past. If you can hit your capture key in that split second, you'll get a shot with no weapon showing. It just takes some practice to get the timing right. I don't always bother doing that, but it can be done. That's how I got some of those weaponless shots earlier in this thread :)

Title: Re: Screenshots

I found this interesting. This is Kyrat airport.

[smg id=7505 align=center width=600]
[smg id=7506 align=center width=600]
[smg id=7507 align=center width=600]

It doesn't look terribly realistic, does it? Like, who would build an airport with a very short and severely downward-sloping runway, the end of which terminates in a steep drop and the upper end terminates in a solid wall of earth?

Spoiler

Answer - the Nepalese. This is Lukla Airport in Nepal, one of the world's most unnerving airports. The runway is only approx. 500m long with a steep drop at the departure end, slopes downward at an angle of 22% towards departure and terminates in a solid wall at the arrival end. You don't want to land long at this place...

You can see how closely Kyrat airport is modelled on it - it even has the same heading number (24) painted on the runway. Generally speaking though, Lukla Airport doesn't often have a wrecked car and dead bodies in the middle of the runway...

Going through this topic again I started to think: Can you get on top of those snowy mounains or are they just in the background?

With that little gyrocopter it could be doable in a reasonable time!
Title: Re: Screenshots

Great find Fragger, and nice pics! +1 from me too ;)

I actually think it's quite intelligent design, a sloped runway. Solution for lack of space, found in what they have too much of; height ;)
Title: Re: Screenshots
Post by: fragger on December 19, 2014, 12:11:33 AM
Thanks for the kudos guys :)

You're right, Binn. Although the runway at Lukla is short, the steepish upward slope on landing greatly helps to shorten the required landing distance. Of course, it can only be landed on one way - uphill. The mountains right behind the high end preclude any landing approaches from that direction, even if you were crazy enough to attempt a landing on a 500m downward-sloping runway with a drop at the end. I saw a program on TV about Lukla not long ago, which was how I knew about it already. As soon as I saw the airport in FC4 I had to get on to Google to compare :)

@JRD, no, you can't get to those snowy mountains, they're backdrop only. The gyrocopter won't go over a certain height above the ground, wherever the ground may be. A light on the console flashes and you hear a beeping noise like a stall warning when you reach the 'copter's ceiling. I haven't yet tried flying toward the mountains to see how far I get or what happens. Another thing to try next time - right after a save, naturally :-()

Dang... I just played for a few hours and forgot to try that gyrocopter thing, i.e. see how far to the edge of the map I could fly. Here's an attempt I made to fly to the extremity of the map:

Getting close (I'm in the gyro, looking sideways):
[smg id=7545 align=center width=600]

Landed, and tantalizingly close:
[smg id=7546 align=center width=600]

Can I get up to the top of that ridge?
[smg id=7547 align=center width=600]

No - a few steps further up and I get this, with a ten-second timer to get back:
[smg id=7548 align=center width=600]

Here's where I landed (white circle, centre screen). There's lots more boundary to try, however...

Wow... a warning countdown!  ???

And if you keep going? Headshot? Sudden death?

I like how they did it in FC2... you pass out in the desert and wake up back on the map... subtle but efficient way of keeping you into the game world without breaking the immersion. This warning seems too harsh.

Man... this game looks fun but I keep being drawn away from it due to the ridiculously main mission. They ruined it for me (and for many of us, of course) but I still want this game.  :-(

No, it's a one-off thing. That marked the beginning of a mission for Longinus, one where you have to acquire an oxygen mask find a bunch of stuff in a blizzard way up in the Himalayas. The Sherpa takes you up there, ostensibly, and brings you back, although you don't see him do it. When you go near him the mission begins - fade out, fade in, and bingo, you're up in the mountains. Same deal to get back out after you've found the stuff.

Nice nose job, bub. This was the result of a glitch which also popped up occasionally in FC3. The guy was technically dead in that he was lying on the ground unmoving, but still showed up as an active enemy on the minimap - and his eyes would periodically blink. Spooky. I put one in his schnoz and got a "headshot" XP bonus. Easiest headshot ever 8)

When I had the idea to toss a sticky C-4 at a bear's arse, it was already funny seeing that bear walking with a butt cork around. Then the bear saw the last man of the outpost, a heavy. The mine was on one bear which set off when the other bear met him where now the fire is, a result of the explosion, as is the current position of those bears.  :-D
[smg id=7578 type=preview align=center caption="bear with me"]

Title: Re: Screenshots
Post by: Art Blade on December 29, 2014, 12:19:45 PM
Thank you. :-D

Actually, mines are not so much fun because they blow up too easily and quickly. Meaning, you toss it onto an animal and on moving, the beast blows itself up. C-4, explosive arrows and baits are the perfect loadout for fun.  :-()

Get to a high position so the animals won't chew on you if you fail to blow them up. Toss a bait from up there and wait until it stopped bouncing around. Then toss a sticky C-4 at the bait, it will be easier to aim at the bait and making the C-4 drop nicely close to the bait than it would be trying to make the bait stop bouncing next to a C-4. Prepare your screenshot. By the way, you won't run out of baits as long as you pick over the animals that you blew up but you may run out of explosives. Try to hold a Sherpa captive for resupplying purposes.  :-D

Blow up your first animal. By the way, I'm not sure whether or not "blowfish" was derived from this sport. However, you'll start to pile up carcasses which you may pick clean, harvesting both hides and baits.

[smg id=7582 type=preview align=center caption="blow-ups 01"]

There is, however, a slight chance that you cannot pick up anything from an animal that you blew up. See, here is why: Animal (tiger) approaching (running)..

[smg id=7583 type=preview align=center caption="blow-ups 02"]

and literally getting "blown away" as in turned into a cloud of blood that blows chunks of meat and entrails around. May happen to anything but bears, it would seem, they're too big :-D That cat here simply ceased to exist.

[smg id=7584 type=preview align=center caption="blow-ups 03"]

Well, once you've run out of explosives, the vultures and other birds will start to show up.. time for your explosive arrows for some finishing-off and mopping-up.  :-()

There's never any shortage of animals in FC4. You no sooner kill one than another one respawns, and usually not very far away.

Hint: Don't try to toss a rhino aside with a vehicle. The rhino will toss your vehicle aside instead :-()

Nice shots guys.

Art, how do you get close enough to a bear to stick a mine to his butt without getting mauled?

And on the topic of animal attacks, I thought I had a foolproof way of shooting animals with the bow to get double skins, just get up on a roof and you're all set. Except for tigers. Tigers can apparently climb anything you can, lol. Wish I had video of that one. I was up on a shed roof hitting him with arrows when he hopped right up and got ready to pounce. I just had enough time to let fly with another arrow to stop him.

Cheers, guys  :)

D_B, I use the "IgnorePlayer" cheat :-() Else, I use the "sticky" option which makes hand grenades, C-4 and mines stick to any surface (except mercs, it would seem) so I can throw explosives like mines or C-4 at animals from quite a distance and they will stick to where they hit.

Thanks, AB - that indeed is a great feature.  I enjoyed setting the time of day in FC2 depending on how I wanted to travel the world.  Sometimes night is fun, and at others, there is little more breathtaking than an early morning stroll high above Lake Segolo

Now I'm more excited to get the game knowing that the cheats w@&k, and reading the modding thread GKID posted gives me hope I can play the way I want to.  :-X

I'll need to wait until I get my new PC though, I'll not waste my hard earned cash on the console version.

Cool :) :-X

I had another idea. Bombers.. as in bomber planes.. planes are called birds.. so, some bird with a bomb.. sticky bomb to a bird.. bingo!  :-D

Load the payload onto the bomber
[smg id=7592 type=preview align=center caption="bombers 01"]
Here it comes..
[smg id=7593 type=preview align=center caption="bombers 02"]
There it goes.
[smg id=7594 type=preview align=center caption="bombers 03"]

I thought if I could blow up a bird shooting it (or its payload) it might w@&k with mercs, too. I was hoping to toss a C-4 at an eagle and later have that eagle attack mercs or my fellow idiots, and that they'd try to shoot it and then blow it up eventually. Would be a good laugh, wouldn't it :) So I tried it myself first.

See you, aim... steady..
[smg id=7595 type=preview align=center caption="bombers 04"]
Bang! Feathers everywhere but no explosion?
[smg id=7596 type=preview align=center caption="bombers 05"]
Dang, I must have killed the pilot. The bomb dropped (centre of the pic) but of course it didn't set off as it was only a remote-controlled C-4 (a mine would very likely have set off during take-off, already) so.. there is the pack of C-4. Useless. Well, I tried  :-()

If I read this correctly, it's saying that reading the warning may limit legal options, so it should be ignored? lol

Pushing the boundaries #2:

Once again I had a go at seeing how close to the edge of the map I could get in a gyro. I actually thought I was in with a chance here:
[smg id=7677 align=center width=600]

Until I landed, got out and tried to walk up there. This is very close to the place where Longinus sends you on the mission into the Himalayas, so I'm assuming that the path you can just make out halfway up the mountain on the right is the one the Sherpa takes you up - even though you don't see that happen. There is a small structure up there which led me to think that maybe I could walk up there, but as you can see I got the "Out of bounds" warning when I tried.

I haven't screenied half the cool places I've found. I just keep finding them, mainly because I'm going around collecting Masks, Mohan's Journals, Lost Letters, Spinning Wheels and Propaganda Posters to get my XPs and/or Karma points up. Masks, Journals and Lost Letters tend to be found in interesting locations.

Which leads me to a tip: It's worth buying a couple of Maps if you want to find where all these things are. The maps aren't hugely expensive and you don't have a lot else to spend your money on early in the piece anyway. Buy South Kyrat: Items and Mid Kyrat: Items for starters - these reveal the locations of all the above collectibles.

The glitches are in lots of places, but they are not deal breakers for me.  My son and I were in co-op the other day, in a cave system, and saw a couple of mercs floating in the air sleeping.  Takes away a bit from the immersion, but no big deal for us.
Title: Re: Screenshots
Post by: fragger on January 19, 2015, 05:35:46 AM
I struck a somewhat annoying glitch yesterday. I did one of those missions for Longinus where you have to get to a vantage point, wait for a smuggler to appear, then tail him to his hideout. I got to the vantage point, the smuggler appeared - but the game failed to provide me with a vehicle to tail him with. I had to sprint after him on foot, and at one point the message appeared saying "The smuggler is too far away". I didn't lose him though, even though he got a ways ahead of me - I still managed to stay close enough to prevent a mission fail, probably because I went after him in a straight line over hill and dale while he was driving on twisting roads, so he never got far enough away from me to trigger the fail.

I caught up with him at his hideout and clobbered him and his crew, but still the "smuggler is too far away" message remained. I looted the vault key from his body, fought my way into his vault, got the diamond, fought my way back out again, then delivered the diamond to Longinus - all the while with that flipping message still pasted on the screen. It went away during the subsequent cutscene with Longinus (his final mission) but reappeared upon resumption of the game proper.

I fast-travelled to a safe house intending to interact with a cabinet, thinking that one of those changes of screens might erase the message. It was still there after I emerged from hyperspace at the outpost. I interacted with the cabinet and the message did disappear while I was in the trading screen, but was waiting for me like a faithful dog when I disengaged from the cabinet. This was now well after I'd successfully completed the smuggler mission, which the program itself had acknowledged with a "success" message, but "The smuggler is too far away" just kept sticking to me like a leech.

I tried choosing a side mission from the outpost I'd fast travelled to, hoping that starting a new mission might get rid of it. Upon accepting the mission, the "...smuggler..." message went away while the new mission title was displayed (An Eye For An Eye), but it reappeared when the title went away.

I did a save and quit back to the main menu, restarted the game - and that @#$%& message was STILL there :D

In the end, the only way I could rid of the bloody thing was to quit to the desktop altogether and relaunch the game :angry-new:

I had that sorta happen with the smuggler message as well, even though I was tailing him in the gyro-copter, and wasn't getting farther away, but the message did go away eventually. I had the copter already to get there, so I just used it to follow him.

I'm beginning to think the copter makes things a little too easy, just raining down grenades and molotovs on people who really can't fight back might be a bit..... nah, it's really fun lol.

Regarding a pasted message, I too had a similar experience, I think it was either a "free hostages" or one of those missions when I had to protect (and save) civilians from attacking tigers, the one where you're on the beach and an ammo crate next to you and a couple of rocky ledges around you from which the tigers would attack. I saved some and I lost some peeps. After the mission, the line with those green diamonds representing the hostages or civilians remained just the way fragger described it. I don't remember how I got rid of it, it might indeed have been a restart.

Maybe there was. But this might have thrown me: When I played this mission in my first playthrough there was no car. The smuggler got clean away and I got a fail. But when I immediately restarted the mission, a car was right there at the vantage point and I used it to complete the mission. When it didn't appear this time around, I naturally thought the game had glitched out so I went running down the road helter-skelter without thinking to see if there was another vehicle of some sort nearby. I didn't have time to look around - the smuggler was getting away...

This was the last smuggler mission for Longinus, where the vantage point is right outside that little town in the North (the name escapes me) - the same town from which you begin the pursuit of Min in the chopper.

There are a couple of places where you can make some pretty cool, long-lasting wingsuit flights.

Here's one. It's called Something-or-other Summit, in South Kyrat. It's not easy to get to, involving a lot of grappling and climbing. You have to approach it from the north side of the ridge that it's located on:
[smg id=7701 align=center width=600]

I'm so high up here that I can't see the ground. Not at night, anyway. There are drifting patches of mist way below.
[smg id=7702 align=center width=600]

A leap into the unknown.
[smg id=7703 align=center width=600]

A good 15 to 20 seconds into the jump and I'm only just beginning to see some vague ground details.
[smg id=7704 align=center width=600]

Sometime later, maybe about halfway through the flight, and I see a bell tower. I'm still way above it.
[smg id=7705 align=center width=600]

More detail begins to emerge.
[smg id=7706 align=center width=600]

Finally I can see a place to aim for, the temple on the side of the lake south-east of Banapur.
[smg id=7707 align=center width=600]

This is the approximate flight path I took. I didn't think to time the flight, but I'm sure it was well over a minute. I want to try it again in daylight, and next time I will time it.
[smg id=7708 align=center width=600]

Sorry about the crappy quality of the shots - I think I compressed the pics more than was necessary. Not that there was much to see for a lot of the time :-()

That is cool fragger.  :)  :-X

I mentioned on another thread the perils of switching from the buzzer to grappling and hitting the "C" key (for descend in the buzzer) mid way through a climb.  Then there's switching from grappling to buzzer it goes the other way around too.  There have been a lot of times on my PC that my left hand has drifted one space to the right off the "W-A-S-D" position while using the buzzer and I've hit and held the "E" key trying to fly forward.

I usually try to hang near tree top level to cut down my visibility from troops on the ground so there's little time to figure out why I'm suddenly doing an air walk but there have been occasions I've actually pulled off a self rescue by finding the wing suit mid-plunge quickly enough to give myself time to remember where the parachute key is before doing a terminal burn in.  ::)

I too have stepped out of an airborne buzzer instead of making it descend. Whoops...

I did that same base-jump again and timed it - 1 minute and 50 seconds elapsed before I reached the ground. I travelled even further this time because it was daylight and I could see where I was going, so I didn't lose altitude by turning this was and that while flying. I almost reached the mountain path high above the lakeside temple this time.

Nex, I can't tell if that's the same spot. It does look a lot like it. But even in the daytime I couldn't quite see the valley floor from up there. The summit is not far from one of the Shangri-La entry points, the south western-most one about half-way between Banapur and the Rochan Brick Factory. You can only reach it from north of its location, by first making for the Shangri-La entrance and then climbing further.

I've been taking screenshots all along in FC4 using both the "Print Screen" button combined with the camera and with out.  But today when I tried to find where they were being stored it looks like the file has been hidden somewhere that I can't find.

What is the click path you guys are using to view your screencaps?  ????

I only use fraps for both clips and screencaps, fraps has a default folder in C drive, but you can create a folder anywhere on the pc, I've relocated mine to an unused 1.34TB HDD

mandru, if you're playing online you can use F12 to capture a screenie and it will be saved in C:/Users/<your PC username>/My Pictures/Uplay/Far Cry© 4. But if you're playing offline, F12 won't do anything (yet another wonderful Ubisoft "feature" ::)). Why this works online but not offline, I don't know. It's ridiculous considering that the images are still saved to your PC when you're online, although I think it may also save to a Uplay cloud if you're online. If you're offline and thus the game can't contact the cloud, F12 simply refuses to take the picture. Dumbness.

PrntScrn will only grab one image at a time, which it stores in your PC's "clipboard". Each time you hit PrntScrn it overwrites the currently stored clipboard image. The only way to save each image is to Alt+Tab to the desktop after hitting PrntScrn, open an image file viewer such as IrfanView (or have it open already), do a "paste from clipboard" or just paste (Ctrl+V), then save that image wherever you want to put it. It's a cumbersome workaround, but it should w@&k.

I haven't tried fraps myself, but it might be worth your while to have a look at that if you prefer to play FC4 offline. Since some of the other guys here use it and seem happy with it, I'm thinking about giving it a go myself.

I'm one that likes Fraps - half the cost of one game, and allows super simple screen captures and videos

I guess all those screenshots I thought I'd captured are lost.  I don't know why UBI changed it.  It's too bad.  ???

I had a great shot of one of Min's private guard "heavies" tossed so that he was sitting up against a wall between two body targets at a fortress' shooting range.  Vertically coming down the white wall directly over his head I'd etched with a Buzzsaw an "O" and a "W" and then on his bright red chest plate armor I had inscribed the "G".

Sorry to have lost that.  :-(

It was quite lovely.  I'm terribly disappointed.

For anyone burning the OWG sig into a screenshot I would highly recommend the buzzsaw.  ^-^

Indeed.  Very nice shots.  :)

The shot showing the Hunter (titled "behind you") reminded me of a stray thought I'd had a while back that the Hunters' ability to mesmerize wild animals and direct them against the player (or other Golden Path soldiers) in a conflict will probably be a highly sought after Mod to be applied to the player's skill set once modding really takes off.

when you (only if your gfx card allows for it) enable "simulated fur" you get to see nice stuff. Same goes for enhanced god rays. I also admire snow that gets blown off high mountains.

Pushing the boundaries #3 (I think...)

I felt like having a bit of FPS fun so I fired up FC4 after not playing it for a while. I'd last saved near the end of a game and decided to go liberate Yuma's fortress. I'd approached it from the SE, and was making my around the outside of it looking for a good high vantage point. In the process, I arrived at this point:

[smg id=8187 align=center width=600]

I'd started by grappling up to the ledge that is just next to the front gate of the fortress (to the left of the gate if you're standing outside looking at it). From there I stayed as high as I could as I made my way around the fort. You'll know when you've reached the above point when you start seeing snowy slopes up above, and there's usually some pigs hanging around there. I found that if I turned north-west, I could actually get up quite high into the snow fields - all the way up to here:

[smg id=8188 align=center width=600]

Once I was up there, I found that the entire snowy-white area shown on the map is traversable. Not only that, but the whole snowy ridge running south to south-east from it which forms the barrier between north and south Kyrat was traversable too, up to a southern-most point (see the final picture).

So I made my way south along the ridge until it ended in a high, stepped peak. Even then, I discovered after much zig-zagging and jumping about that the peak itself was almost entirely climbable. Despite entering this area from north Kyrat, I was able to wingsuit from here into south Kyrat (the "out of bounds" message appeared during the first couple of seconds of the jump, then it went away and all was well).

As far as I can determine, the starting point to this high snowy area near Yuma's fortress is the only way up. Once up there however, you can jump and wingsuit into either north or south Kyrat. Be careful though - even though I was way above the rest of the map, I got attacked by an eagle while I was up there.

Later I went back to see if the initial access point could be reached from north of Yuma's place, but it appears that you have to go around the fort from the south to get high enough to find the initial snowy area, staying as high as you can as you go around.

Here's some pics:

High above King's Bridge.
[smg id=8189 align=center width=600]

Looking southwards along the ridge that divides north and south Kyrat. The "X" marks the furthest point I could reach.
[smg id=8190 align=center width=600]

Looking down on Ajay's house along the way.
[smg id=8191 align=center width=600]

Normally the peak with the X is totally inaccessible, even by gyrocopter. But from up here on the ridge, you can wingsuit to it and land on it (which I did later).
[smg id=8192 align=center width=600]

Getting close to the summit. X marks the spot again.
[smg id=8193 align=center width=600]

Climbing higher and higher. Tricky running jump here, took a few attempts to get up there.
[smg id=8194 align=center width=600]

Well, the end of the road! So close to the top...

Nice one GKID :-X I've got a gold Magnum and a gold Desert Eagle :-D

I never did get around to taking Yuma's fort while I was gallivanting around on the ridge, so I went back with a LK-1018 launcher equipped with the L-CAM sight and climbed back up to the ridge. From up there I was able to pepper the fort with cluster bombs. I took out all the guards with it - they never knew where it was coming from! One hit earned me 750 XPs in one go 8)

Previously I was never crazy about the LK because it doesn't do what the blurb says. It's supposed to lock on to a vehicle with the L-CAM sight, but it doesn't, even though it plays tones when the sight is on a vehicle. However, I did discover what it does do. Wherever you aim with the L-CAM, that's where the cluster bombs will come down, even after you've fired, stopped sighting and have turned away. You need a clear line of sight though - if there's so much as a twig between you and the target, the rounds will fall where the twig is, i.e. land short and possibly on you. Without the L-CAM, the LK behaves like the Carl G in FC2 - the rocket can be guided in flight, provided you keep sighting to guide it.

There is a bit of a glitch, dunno if it's just in my game. When I first grab the LK from the store with the L-CAM already attached, it behaves as though the sight isn't there, i.e. like the Carl G. To get the rocket to fly upwards and then rain cluster bombs like it's supposed to do with the L-CAM, I have to interact with a trading cabinet or Sherpa to remove the L-CAM, go out and fire a rocket, then come back to the trading cabinet and re-attach the L-CAM. From then on it works fine. As long as I hang on to the LK it keeps working properly, but once I swap it for another weapon, then grab it again later, the glitch returns and I have to do the sight swap-out thing again.

I now love the thing, despite that little glitch. It's like being a one-man artillery barrage, and it has an impressive range.

Funny, I never used either of those weapons much. Used the buzzsaw a little, but don't think I ever acquired the LK-1018 at all, I'll have to fire it up tonight and see.
