The guy interviewed says these four games (AC - AC:R) have followed a carefully planned storyline arc but then says about Desmond's future he doesn't know and that our guess is as good as his.

He doesn't know and that our guess is as good as his?   ???  :angry-new:  :D

Somebody slap him for telling such a horrible fib!

How can it be a carefully planned arc and yet working at the core of the project he claims he doesn't know what comes next.  For the love of freak just say "We're not ready to spill the beans yet."

Having seen the end game of AC:R a couple times even I can project what the first part of the next game of the series will involve.  The thing about a series of arcs is that after you've seen the first few the following arcs of the set will have to follow the same basic structure.  Any where there is a ticking clock in the AC series you know there is a certain frantic race to complete the action and Desmond is now going to be faced with the biggest and most important ticking clock of all...  The rapidly approaching date of 12/21/2012.

Spoiler
Now self-resurrected from the damage caused from over exposure to the animus Desmond is faced with the mouth of the same tunnel into the Grand Temple (possibly the first of a series of scattered grand temples some held by Templars is a possibility too) shown to him by Juno in his encounter with that first civilization meddler.

Desmond will need to enter, overcome defenses and learn to activate and apply what it is he finds there.

Well, they have to be liars at least once in an interview, else they'd not be a company man.  :-()
