Hands on - First 6 hours of RDR:

Warning: there are some SPOILERS in this article.

gonna stay away from that read - I want to let the story specifics unfold for me as I play - then I'll come back and see what they say.

I like anything that is "the first 6 hours" meaning just the beginning.  Some SP games are 8 hours all in.  RDR will be like JC2 I think in terms of value for your gaming buck!

I thoroughly enjoyed the read and am even more excited to get the game.  Here's the closing quote which is not much of a spoiler:

Quote...those opening moments of John Marston's adventure are at once familiar and unique, with the tropes of past Grand Theft Auto games given fresh life by the deftly executed period trappings. But what's also familiar is the brilliance on display in a game that's looking every bit a worthy successor to Grand Theft Auto IV

hey sweet - thanks!  The dust in those pictures looks great.  Strange I know, but I love well done dust and snow blowing in the wind  ;D

lol, the first thing that snapped to my mind was that the guy being bull whipped reminded me of a govman in JC2 being grappled!

Nice impressions  :-X

I've been trying to catch up with the unplayed games in my library. The last couple weeks have been spent on Mass Effect 1&2. Had my longest marathon session ever with ME2. Played for a couple hrs last Monday just setting it up, then played from about 4PM Tuesday till midnight Wednesday...onetime I must have dozed off for a minute or two cause I remember looking down at the controller in my hands and thinking WTF!

Now I have to try Bioshock2 before RDR & Alan Wake show up :)

PZ

lol, I think that we have all probably been where you are KingRat - we probably need to continue a thread titled "You know you're addicted to gaming when..."

There is only one worse scenario. When you wake up and go to the bathroom, the moment you look into the mirror, when you see the keyboard layout imprinted on your face.  :)

I peed in my bedroom since I though it was restroom.

Because there are so many pages of posts in RDR, plus the fact that it appears that several OWG members are very interested in the game, it deserves it's own board.

Welcome to RDR:Single player

spaceboy

so what you're basically saying is "This thread isn't big enough for the both(all) of us"...   ;D

cool - I do expect a few good discussions on this one.

I was wondering when RDR was going to get its own space here.
