After 170 hours of gameplay on my first playthrough at Casual setting, I found myself with 368/369 settlements completed. This was due to a glitch in the second agency mission where you rescue Karl Blaine from  the Panau Falls Casino.

I was already well into the game when I learned that I would never be able to complete all settlements but continued on, thinking that it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Well..it was. Bugged the crap out of me, in fact.

So I did what any obsessive / compulsive would do...I started over form scratch...this time on Experienced. It didn't take me long to see that I didn't want to fight my way through 369 settlements on that level so I started over on Normal.

Everything went well until I got to the infamously buggy "Black Gold" Mission for the Reapers. Another glitch prevented me from fully completing the oil platform. Unfortunately my most recent manual save point was 10-15 hours back.

I almost gave up...but didn't.

I replayed 10-15 hours and fully completed the mission and the collected all the items for 100%. And I started manually saving like a madman.

I ran into a few more glitches. I learned that colonels spawn with civilians. If the civilians are missing, the colonel that is supposed to be in that area might be as well. That explains some otherwise perplexing sudden disappearance and reappearance of colonels in a few locations.

After 130 hours, I have now completed 369/369 settlements. All Agency and Faction missions completed. All faction items collected. All weapons and vehicles fully upgraded. $ 6 million in the bank. I was more interested in completing the game than doing the challenges so I have a lot of those remaining. The renaming time I spend on JC 2 will probably be doing challenges, searching for the remaining items and making life miserable for the military. Every time I see them mistreating civilians, they are going to get shot.

I'll be spending some time with Red Dead Redemption shortly...after I catch up on the chores I have neglected while replaying this silly game.

Man, you love JC2. :) I don't know if I'll encounter bugs (or if I have encountered any) but I don't think I'd care much if I don't get everything 100%. However, I do understand you, nothing wrong trying to get them all. By the way, I'm "only" around 80 hours in the game, like 41% completion so far. Most of the time I spend kicking govmen's backsides :) So far, I gathered around 6,100 kills with around 1,100 headshots  ;D

One things for sure I'm jealous of the amount of gaming time you can put in!   I'd love to complete 100% but most likely won't ever do...as we discussed you're OCD relates to my ADD.  I love JC2 though and will definitely go back as I've got some unfinished business there!

Being retired early, a night owl by nature and, unfortunately, being laid up with a knee problem are consistent with an unreasonable amount of time devoted to gaming.

:)

...an unreasonable amount of time devoted to gaming.

I didn't think there was any such thing ;D

Congratulations on completing all the settlements in the game  :-X

It's going to take me a long, long time to get to that point, if I ever do.  Unfortunately, when a new game appears that captures my fancy, even my old favorites take a back seat.  I don't think that I've ever completed a game to absolutely 100% - the closest has been FC2, but even then, I did not ever collect all the diamonds.

I'm much the same, PZ. I never finished Call of Juarez, Stalker CoP or Wolfenstein, but not because something new came along. To be honest, those games just didn't grab me the way FC2 did. I enjoyed playing them for a while, but with each there was either something I wasn't crazy about, or I just got sick of playing them. My JC2 should (hopefully) be arriving soon, so I'll be interested to see if I can get through all of that one. About the only other games I've ever played all the way through were the Half-Life ones and the Call of Duty ones. Well, Modern Warfare 2 only took about 10 hours to get through, so it wasn't really that much of a slog. Same with World at War, come to think of it.

I have a feeling JC2 will be different, i.e. something I can lose myself in for hours the way I did with FC2. I'd like to start finding out, so I may have to put a bomb under the guys at the shop where I ordered the game >:(
